How the results were tabulated:
The results of each registered competitor was scored for each of the the Fogh Gold Cup regattas they entered. If they did not enter a particular Fogh Gold Cup Regatta, their score for that regatta is "the number of registrants for the regatta plus one." The score for each regatta was then divided by the number of regatta entrants to give a weighted net score for that regatta. The best four of six regatta scores are counted for the overall Fogh Gold Cup score.
