District 3 laser sailor Lee Parkhill improved his game as Miamir OCR Week went along and found himself finishing with a very tidy 2nd place in the medal round on the Saturday, leaving him in 8th overall, not bad for what is the only stop on the World Cup circuit in North America.
In what he called a tricky wind and a hard fleet, Parkhill showed steady improvement throughout the regatta to be one of only two Canadians to make the Medal round. Nick Thompson of Great Britian was the eventual winner with a score that included six bullets in 10 races. Luke Ramsay was other Canadian in the top ten.
In Radials, Jen Spalding was top Canadian and the only one to make the medal race. She finished 7th overall. Lisa Ross was next at 21.
