Four Sisters was a great success this year. Five races were sailed over the course of two days with over 200 competitors there looking for gold and a good time. As usual the lawn was filled with tents and kids were running around everywhere when I arrived on Friday night.

Saturday morning was a later-than-usual 11:45a.m. start because the Lake Ontario 300 was also starting out of PCYC that morning. The race committee decided to start the Radials first and sent them to the outer loop, which meant we all finished around the same time. The first race it was light about 5-7 knots and Dave Mori and I punched out pretty far from the pack but he played vary good defense and I could not work my way around him. The next two races that day were sort of the same thing where the first 2 or 3 boats would punch out and then battle from there. I was able to hold off Justin Barns and Joe Van Rossem these next two races to take the two bullets. After the first day I was leading the regatta Joe Van 2nd and Dave Mori and Justin Barns tied for 3rd.

Day two was a bit different. The wind was up and down and oscillating over a wide range. But the race committee was determined to get fair races off anyway. We had two races, the first one in 5-12 knots going up and down the whole race. I managed to catch a little more wind than every one on the right at the top of the beat and just extended from there.

The next race was a little different. A mark was placed near our course and the wind shifted slightly making this mark appear to be our windward. The fleet sailed around it by mistake, but because the whole fleet did the same thing they counted the race. I ended up 5th as the left side really paid on the last little beat to the finish.

But at the end of the day when every thing was added up, we managed to get the RCYC sweep with myself winning, Justin Barns 2nd and Dave Mori third. We are all vary happy with they way the event ended and encourage people to return after the wind drought in 2008.
