The second day of the regatta started off with a bang. Exactly three bangs. I won the first three races of the day. I sailed all of them pretty much the same. I started at the pin which was somewhat empty and it was quite funny because I thought the pin was favoured. Every single one of these races a puff would come on the left side with a big lift. I would tack on this puff and cross the fleet. Once the puff end, I would either head for the lay-lines, as sides would had lifts. I usually picked the left side as it had more wind than the right side. The strategy worked great as I rounded the top mark about 30 boat lengths ahead of the rest of the fleet.
The fourth race did not end so well. Once again I started at the pin but this time the wind shifted to the right and I had trouble holding my lane off the start because I readjusted my outhaul and forgot to cleat it properly. It went all the way off. I ended the race in 22nd but the guy who won the race and the regatta for that matter bang the left corner both legs and worked for him since the left corner had more breeze. I went pretty far left but not left enough.
At the end of the day I was in 5th place, one place ahead District 3 superstar Claire Merry. I was also in range to move up to first on the last day if there were two races and a second drop.
