Regatta reflection is an important part of moving forward and improving as a sailor. Being able to analyze your sailing critically is a learned skill and will help you identify areas of your sailing to improve and build confidence through realizing or affirming skills that you are proficient at. The Delta Lloyd Regatta is over and it is time for me to look at my overall performance.
Though my final result was a disappointment, my regatta was a success because I achieved a number of process goals that I had set for myself. I have upwind speed to sail competitively with some of the best Laser sailors in the world. At the same time, my downwind speed and fleet management needs to be improvement.
